Most wireless adapters are not designed for use in linux and depend on non-free proprietary drivers. Some lenovos i don't know about your particular model have issues with the uefi which is like a bios but hates linux. Drivers are the property and the responsibility of their respective manufacturers, and may also be available for free directly from manufacturers' websites.
